Fire Disaster Recovery

TODAY AT CONTINENTAL MACHINERY

Continental employees are currently working high-rise office building projects in Pittsburg, PA and Newark, NJ. One project involves a power surge; the second one explosion and subsequent fire. We are also responding to a catastrophe at a large metal recylcing facility in Ohio. Inventories, damage assessment, scope of repair, project management and valuation activities are currently in process.

Continental employees recently completed work at a playground manufacturer in Pennsylvania after a fire loss. Emergency cleaning and repair activities were begun shortly after the fire, and long-term permanent repair recommendations, which included replacement of many machines allowed the insured to restore production to pre-loss capacities. CMC’s restoration process using ultrasonic cleaners and larger dip tanks allowed the insured to recover work in process and tooling damaged from the fire.

After our January 16 factory fire, we did not know where to begin with the recovery process because we were not in a rational frame of mind. Your ability to bring in a clean-up crew at short notice and begin the recovery process within days of the fire helped us get back into operation sooner than expected.

John Capozzi

President, Koike Aronson, Inc.

Continental Machinery provided a quick and thorough technical response to assist in the adjustment of the equipment on our claim. Thank you for your involvement in this matter.
